Valentine was a young calf that I thought was just adorable when I first saw him while visiting a horse friend's farm.  My friend explained that along with raising Paso Fino horses and Emu's he enjoyed raising miniature cows.  The adorable little fellow looked so dressed up in black and white with a prominent Heart on his left side and a lightning bolt on his right side I just knew that he would make a perfect Valentine's present for my wife Linda.  I thought that a minature bull with this unique Heart and lightning bolt pattern would be an extra special gift.  We got our precious little "Valentine" in time for Valentine's Day in 1997.  Much to our surprise Valentine kept growing and growing some more.  Now Linda's "miniature bull" weighs over 1,200 lbs. and has been rated a 10 (fat content) by the Purina Feed Representative.  After Valentine visited our neighbor's cows in their pasture we made Valentine a steer.  Valentine has become a legend on Pine Mountain.  Many people use Valentine as a reference to providing directions around Pine Mountain.  Many people stop by our farm just to visit with Valentine and see him up close.  One such visitor was a local school bus driver.  She said that the students call Valentine a couple of different names.  One is "The Lightning Bolt of Love" cow and the other name is "The Love Cow".  Ole Mr. Valentine has it made, but I don't think that he realizes it.  There is no hamburger in his future....
